Releasing a Gladstone AI report that finds most insiders it spoke to believe RSI will start within the next 3 to 12 months, and possibly sooner, Harris told TIME There's a fair amount of [disaster] prepping and bio-bunker purchasing going on.
The report tries to define recursive self-improvement precisely enough to regulate, and its timeline assumes there's no U.S. government intervention or slowdown. Harris said the detail was meant to make it possible to point to a part of this process and say: a human needs to be there.
