  On Decoder, asked about AI, Pritzker said is AI potentially existential? The answer, of course, is yes. And can we solve it? I don't know.

  Talking to Nilay Patel weeks before the midterms, the Illinois governor compared AI to the nuclear threat of his childhood: I think we're heading into that world again with AI. Of the White House inviting companies to self-police, he said it's not going to provide any safety either because everybody's going to operate in their own self-interest. He also warned unemployment could settle at 7 percent and have that be the baseline, or maybe 10 percent.
