  In a letter to Dario Amodei, Levine wrote I therefore urge Anthropic to pause the IPO process so that the company may fully address these key issues, citing the AI safety risks in its own filing.

  Levine, who oversees New York City's pension funds, quoted Amodei's September essay (We must slow the pace at which we improve the capabilities of AI models) and said the risk disclosures in Anthropic's IPO filing are not routine and indicate risks that are without precedent. He asked Anthropic to disclose its audits and controls and how they address the call to slow capability growth.
